Iraq oil ministry starts taking over Majnoon oilfield operations from Shell. The new management is to cut the cost of producing a barrel of crude from Majnoon by 30%. Production is now 235Kbpd with plans to increase output to 400Kbpd in the "coming years".
Currently, Kurdistan's average oil export is around 340Kbarrels per dayay, 1/3 of it produced from Khurmala disputed field (Kirkuk's 3rd dome) which could be reclaimed anytime by Iraq's federal authority. KRG monthly payment: to Turkey for transit fee is $25mln and to IOCs is $125mln.
